Shortly after the presentation of the splendid Carrera Seafarer x Hodinkee, Tag Heuer Replica once again shifts its attention to the more modern collections by presenting the Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport.
The sportier and less traditional looking Carrera is part of the contemporary DNA of the brand, namely the launch of modern manufacture calibres, in chronograph and chronograph Tourbillon editions.
The launch of the Heuer TH20-00 calibre, an evolution of the Heuer 02, and the 39 mm Carrera have paved the way for a wide range of classic and ultra-sporty evolutions, enhanced in the second case by the noble and exclusive partnership with Porsche.
Porsche DNA for the Chronograph Extreme Sport
If the skeleton Carrera is not a novelty, and belongs to the heritage of TAG Heuer with Heuer 01 first and Heuer 02 later, the Extreme version is perhaps its most refined evolution, whose chromosomes recall the splendid TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 in limited series.
The squat case of the early days has been progressively replaced by an elaborate case with a sinuous side, full of edges and concave surfaces, curved lugs and an integrated rubber strap.
TAG Heuer has not abandoned but profoundly evolved the archetype of the multi-material sports chronograph with an integrated strap. And to strengthen the intense bond with the world of motorsport, it has created a strap with a recess that recalls the legendary NACA air intake in the center.
Four chronographs and two chrono-tourbillons
The Carrera was born as a chronograph but the brand has accustomed us to pairing it with a tourbillon, transforming it into the most accessible chrono-tourbillon ever. The dominant aesthetic motif and now essential recognition element is the shield logo supported by braces and embedded in an intricate skeleton dial, which has become its trademark over the years.
It is present in more than one sports collection, as demonstrated by the Mario Kart Tourbillon that takes its shape from the Formula 1 case. And it is made particularly lively on two of the four versions of the chronograph in the catalog. It does not offer an immediately readable dial and is not helped in this by the visible date ring, especially on the orange version, but it has enough grit to make Extreme very attractive.

The assumption is true on the four variants of the Chronograph Extreme Sport, which mount the grade 2 titanium case and ceramic bezel, enhancing the alternation between brushed and satin surfaces, with the black granulated PVD finish on the concave profile.
