The genesis of the movement, by Albert Piguet, dates back to 1943; in 1946 Omega improved it by fitting a shock-proof system and an anti-magnetic balance wheel. The first edition of the asymmetric case debuted in 1964 with the ref. ST 105.012 (to which the writing “Professional” was added) while in 1968 the legendary caliber 321 was replaced by the caliber 861.
