The first Omega Replica Seamaster appeared in 1948 as a regular wristwatch with increased water resistance. Nowadays the Seamaster is best known as a diving watch. The top model Omega Seamaster Ploprof is even waterproof to depths of 1,200 meters. The most popular model is the Omega Seamaster Diver 300m. Find out more about the outstanding diving watches that secret agent James Bond also wears on his wrist.
All watches in the Seamaster collection have increased water resistance. Another similarity is the works used, which now all come from our own workshops. Since the late 1990s, they have been equipped with the particularly low-maintenance co-axial escapement and have been double certified by COSC and METAS. The strict certification is reflected in the “Master Chronometer” lettering on the dial.
Omega Seamaster Ploprof: water depths up to 1,200 m
When asked how deep a person can dive, you get impressive numbers. In apnea diving – diving while holding your breath, also known as free diving – the record so far is 214 m deep. In scuba diving it is over 332 m and in special pressure suits people can dive to depths of up to 450 m.
The Ploprof is one of the most robust diving watches and is particularly practical for professional divers thanks to its automatic helium valve at four o’clock. The strap’s diving extension — available as a metal strap with a fabric structure and a rubber strap — allows the watch to be worn comfortably over the wetsuit.
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean: Optimum readability
The design of the Planet Ocean is sporty and elegant at the same time, which makes this diving watch a popular everyday companion. In addition to three-hand watches, you can choose between chronographs and watches with a GMT display.
The Planet Ocean, which was only launched in 2005, is waterproof up to 600 m. The innovative helium valve is located at ten o’clock, as is the case with the Diver 300M.
The selection of material and color variants is enormous with the Planet Ocean. The dials are available in black, white, blue, gray and brown, among others. A particularly elegant combination is black ceramic with Sedna gold:
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra: Sporty elegance
Since its beginnings, the Omega Seamaster has constantly evolved. The models in the Seamaster collections not only impress with their high level of waterproofness and robustness, but also with their modern design.
The Aqua Terra models are among the most popular and probably most elegant wristwatches in the Seamaster family. You can also call them dress watches. They are also solid and impress with first-class technology. The majority of the collection consists of watches with three hands, but chronograph fans and watch lovers of models with a second time zone (GMT) will also find what they are looking for.
If you want to keep track of more than two time zones at the same time, the Aqua Terra GMT Worldtimer is the right choice for you. This timepiece shows 24 time zones at the same time, here again in the video from minute 03:28:
Omega also offers a special Seamaster Ladies Collection. The following Omega women’s watch from the Aqua Terra collection has a simple silver dial and is ideal as an everyday watch:
Omega Seamaster 300 Professional Diver: James Bond
